Import turnover of plastic products increases by 53.15pct

The statistic showed Vietnam’s import turnover of plastic products in March was estimated at $114.1 million, an increase of 35.47 percent against the previous month and 43.43 percent year-on-year; raising the accumulative import value in the first three months of this year to $297.25 million, up 53.15 percent in comparison with the same period of last year.

In the first quarter of 2010, Japan was ranked at the top place in the list of markets from which Vietnam imported plastic products with total import value of $90.75 million, counting for 30.35 percent of total import turnover, and up 74.74 percent year-on-year; followed by China with $65.14 million or 21.91 percent of total turnover, up 50.14 percent against that of last year. South Korea took the third place with total import turnover of $27.33 million, a year-on-year increase of 76.94 percent, then Thailand with $26.19 million, up 33.91 percent and Taiwan with $25.97 million, up 35.54 percent.
