Hue’s Industrial and Craft Production Increases

According to the Thua Thien Hue Industry and Trade Department, the province’s industrial and craft production in March 2010 earned VND508.5 billion, 4.7 percent up from February.

In the first three months of 2010, this figure reached VND1.476 billion, 26.7 percent more than the same period in 2009. The State-run sector achieved a growth rate of 17.3 percent while the foreign invested sector increased 39 percent compared to the same period last year. Areas which enjoyed rapid growth included raw materials, processing, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water. Major companies such as Hue Beer Company, Luskvaxi Company, Thua Thien Hue Mineral Corporation, Phu Bai Spinning Joint Stock Company, Scavi Joint Stock Company and forestry processing companies also made huge contributions to the province’s industrial growth in the second quarter./.
