Hoang Anh Gia Lai to Build 17 Power Plants in Vietnam, Laos in Next 3 Years
Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAG), one of blue chips in Vietnam’s main bourse, plans to build 17 hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 420 MW in the country and in Laos in the 2010-2012.
The firm will build power plants with a combined capacity of 310 MW in Vietnam and 110 MW in Laos during the period, the company said in a resolution approved at its shareholders’ meeting Mar. 19.
The company plans to operate the Daksrong 2 and Daksrong 2A hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 42 MW in the second quarter of 2010.
HAG also expects to kick-start hydropower projects of Daksrong 3A, Dakpsi 2C, Dak Lo 2, Buon Don and Buon Bra within this year while speeding up building Ba Thuoc 1, Ba Thuoc 2, Daksong 3B and Dakspi 2B.
