Hepza attracts $7.7b investment capital

Since 20 years of establishment and operations, HCM City Industrial Part and Export Processing Zone Authority (Hepza) has attracted $7.7 billion investment capital, said Le Thanh Hai, Poliburo member cum HCM City party committee secretary on July 1.
Of which, sectors of high technology, technique and science such as electricity and electronics drew big investment with about 25.47% of the total investment and then plastic with 14.9% and engineering accounted for 13.1%.
The accumulated export turnover of Hepza has reached $23.211 billion, accounting for 40% of the city’s export turnover and 60% of export turnover of foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) in HCM City.

So far, Hepza has gained average export turnover growth of 15% per year.

In 2010, Hepza contributed over three trillion dong to the state budget. Till date, Hepza has attracted 255,855 labourers, including 70% from provinces and 20,000 foreign specialists.
