HCM City’s industrial production value up 12.9pct in Jan

HCM City’s industrial production value in January 2011 surged 12.9 percent over the same period last year, chair of the HCM City People’s Committee, Le Hoang Quan, said on January 24.

The city’s total retail sales and services increased 4.7 percent month on month and soared 19.2 percent year-on-year. The city’s turnover from tourism was up 16.1 percent y-o-y and the consumer price index (CPI) surged 1.01 percent m-o-m.

The city’s total budget collection reached 8.1 percent of the year’s estimate, up 21.3 percent year-on-year and the local budget spending was 3.8 percent of the year’s estimate, rising 19.4 percent y-o-y.
