HCM City’s industrial output surges 4.2pct in May

HCM City Statistic Bureau has recently reported the socio-economic situation of the city in May 2011 with satisfactory growth.
Particularly, the city’s total turnover of sales and services saw a rise of 2.7 percent from the previous month and 24.9 percent against the same period last year.

The industrial production value of Vietnam’s biggest city posted a rise of 4.2 percent month on month and 12.5 percent year on year.

The production value of agro-forestry and fisheries in May reached 146.5 billion dong and it was 995.3 billion dong in Jan-May, rising 6.1 percent y-o-y.

The price index of HCM City still remained high in comparison with that of other provinces and cities nationwide whereby the city’s CPI in May soared 2.38 percent m-o-m and 16.15 percent y-o-y. – Vietbiz24
