HCM City set to host fashion, textiles fair

Dozens of Vietnamese fashion companies will showcase their latest lines in garments, footwear, and other accessories at the Viet Nam International Fashion Fair that will open in HCM City on July 3.

Leading garment makers like Viet Tien, Viet Thang, Phuong Dong, Phong Phu,ù and Nha Be will exhibit their high-quality products at 13 fashion shows.

Viet Thang will introduce its spring and summer cotton collections while Viet Tien will display its luxury brand Sansciaro as well as Smart Casual and T-UP clothes.

Dong Phuong Knitting Company will show off its spring and summer collection made of eco-friendly materials like bamboo and viscose.

Nightly fashion shows will premiere collections by designers from the Viet Nam Fashion Design Institute like Nguyen Trang, Tan Phat, Nhat Huy, Cong Khanh, and Phuong Thao using the latest materials, techniques, and design technologies.

There will be seminars on topics like the 2011 fashion trends, building fashion brands, developing distribution systems in Viet Nam, and growing cotton which will attract Japanese fashion professors from Yamabuchi University.

The week-long fair at the HCM City International Exhibition and Convention Centre will be organised by the Viet Nam National Textile&Garment Group and Viet Nam Textile&Apparel Association in co-operation with the Viet Nam Leather&Footwear Association.

There will be 350 stalls put up by nearly 150 companies.

The organisers hope the fair will help local garment companies develop new partnerships and promote sales at home and abroad. — VNS
