HCM City hi-tech zones aim for US$150 million turnover

HCM City’s technologically-advanced and powerful corporations and localities have announced a joint initiative to raise turnover of US$150 million.

To achieve this target, the city’s management board for high-technology zones will give priority to developing in three fields, namely micro electronics, information technology and telecommunications.

Municipal authorities are also carrying out a strategic plan on developing hi-tech zones in the 2011-2015 period with a vision for 2020, with an estimated total investment of about VND5,800 billion.

The plan will focus on attracting investment, developing human resources and promoting research.
