HCM City faces electricity shortfall of over 1b kWh

The country is expected to face an electricity shortfall of 3 billion kWh in this six months of dry season, in which the HCM City may lack 1 billion kWh, equivalent with six million kWh a day.

The expectation was made by Tran Khiem Tuan, deputy general director of HCM City Power Corp at the conference on January 21 to launch 2011 electricity supply scheme.

In his view, 2011 will see the operation of 17 electricity grid works in HCM City to enhance the sustained power supply here.
