HCM City calls for $8b to build 3 and 4 ring roads

These two belt roads will cross 15 districts of five provinces and cities including HCM City, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An.
Deputy prime minister, Hoang Trung Hai, on late May 10 asked Ministry of Transport to urgently carry out procedure to prepare for the project of calling investment for two ring roads No 3 and 4 in HCM City.

This will be two urban belt roads and inter-regional transport routes with technical grade of meeting the transport demand with high speed and reducing the pressure on inner traffic in HCM City.

The ring road 3 is scheduled beginning at the kilometer 38 and ending at kilometer 0 in Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway with a total length of 100 kilometers and 6-8 lanes.

The ring road 4 is scheduled starting at the kilometer 40 in Bien Hoa-Vung Tau highway and ending at North-South axis in Hiep Phuoc port area (HCM City) with a total length of about 197.6 kilometers and 6-8 lanes.

The advisory body has proposed a mechanism for project implementation, especially the management and planning issues, creating a land area for an appropriate investment resource to implement two projects estimated to cost $8 billion. – Vietbiz24
