HCM City actualizes 31.5tr dong for basic construction in Jan-May

Total basic construction investment in HCM City during the first five months of 2011 has been actualized at 31.496 trillion dong, fulfilling 19 percent of the year’s plan and increasing 15.6 percent year-on-year, the city Statistic Office reported.
In which, the actualized amount belonging to the city budget accounted for more than 4.581 trillion dong, up 10.9 percent year on year. The amount at city level was estimated at nearly 2.305 trillion dong, down 5.1 percent whereas this at district level was over 2.276 trillion dong, rising by 33.8 percent compared with the same period of 2010.

In May, the actualized workload in basic construction investment in HCM City was mainly ODA projects, others to build schools and some infrastructure projects.

The growth of basic construction investment actualization in Jan-May was slower than one year earlier because many major works are short of capital and facing difficulties in ground clearance stage. For example, Provincial Road 10 expansion project was short of 400 billion dong for ground clearance, Nguyen Thi Thap road upgrading project and others suffered the same problem.
