HCM City’s industrial production posts strong growth

In 2010, HCM City’s industrial production continued the recovery impetus with a growth of 14.2%, reaching 209.354 trillion dong, according to HCM City Department of Industry and Trade.

Of which, the state-run economic areas saw arise of 5.8%, contributing 1.3% to the city’s growth while the private economic area’s growth was 17.3%, contributing 7.4% and foreign-invested areas surged 15.5%, contributing 5.5%.

Also in 2010, the hub city’s total retail sales and services are estimated to reach 372.152 trillion dong, achieving 107.1% of the year’s target, growing nearly 28% year on year. The city’s total export turnover (excluding crude oil) gained over 30.06 trillion dong, rising 11.1% (equaling to $3.699,3 billion).

In 2011, the city strives to maintain high growth in industrial production and trade activities to create jobs and increase the income for the laborer and promote the city’s GDP growth.
