Hanoi’s industrial output surges 12.6pct in Jan-May

During the first five months of this year, Hanoi has still continued to keep the growing momentum in industrial production with a total value of 47.387 trillion dong, rising 12.6 percent from the same period last year.

Of which, the industrial output of state economic areas reached nearly 10.166 trillion dong, or 9.7 percent increase year-on-year, private firms contributed 15.4 trillion dong, up 11.8 percent y-o-y and foreign-invested economic area made up nearly 21.822 trillion dong, a year-on-year rise of 15.9 percent.

According to Cong Xuan Mui, head of Hanoi Department of Statistics, the capital city’s growing momentum in industrial production value showed enterprises knew how to overcome the difficulties caused high input material and fuel prices together with the banks’ race of raising interest rates. – Vietbiz24
