Hanoi’s export turnover up 9.8pct in Jan-May
Hanoi’s export turnover in May reached $602.5 million, up 20 percent from previous month, of which, local export posted a rise of 2.3 percent m-o-m, reported Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade.
Noticeably, apparel product export saw a rise of 45 percent over the same period last year, fine arts up 24.8 percent and coal up 27.2 percent y-o-y.
As estimated, in Jan-May, the city’s export turnover would reach some $2.828 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.8 percent.
Regarding import, the import demand of materials in May continued to increase to some $1.81 billion, up 19.1 percent with main import items such as chemicals, plastic and petroleum.
Totally, in Jan-May, the city imported over $8.626 billion, rising 35 percent year-on-year.
During the first five months this year, the city’s total service turnover and retail sales reached over 335.966 trillion dong, rising 25.9 percent against last year, of which retail turnover posted 76.155 trillion dong, a year-on-year increase of 27.3 percent.
