Hanoi invests in aquaculture
The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee endorsed a project worth more than VND250 billion to build concentrated aquaculture infrastructure in Hop Thanh, An Phu and Huong Son communes in Hanoi’s My Duc district.
Accordingly, more than 493ha of land unsuited to growing rice will be converted to aquaculture. 18ha of this plot will be used for roads and fences while the rest will hold ponds, pumping stations and channels.
The communes have developed aquaculture in recent years. However, aquaculture farmers in these areas have faced numerous difficulties from lack of walls, irrigation channels and roads.
The project will be implemented from 2011-2014. – VOV
