Hanoi intl’ trade dips in August

Hanoi’s import-export turnover in August was announced to slightly drop by 0.1 percent over the previous month.

Among the groups of commodities for export, coffee saw the sharp reduction of 52.5 percent, while pepper down 4.1 percent. However, the other groups with increasing export turnover included rice, up 35.1 percent; tea up 13.7 percent, textile and garment, up 25 percent, foot wear and leather-made products, up 7.7 percent; computer components up 32.1 percent and hand crafts up 8.6 percent.

The city’s import trade was estimated to decline by 0.5 percent against that of July, of which fertilisers decreased by 36.9 percent. Meanwhile, the import value of other groups of machines, equipment, steel and chemicals still enjoyed significant growth in comparison with the previous months. – TBKTVN
