Hanoi hosts Vietnam ETE 2011

The 2011 Vietnam International Electrical Technology & Equipment Exhibition (Vietnam ETE) is taking place in Hanoi from September 7-10.

The exhibition attracts many popular national and international manufacturers including the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the LS-VINA Cable, Yongjin Vietnam Cable, V-Tech, An Phuc, Hai Thanh, Cyber Tech, Ngan Giang, Limkimhai and electric generator distributors such as APS Engineering Company, DP, STD&T, Kohler, Brass Copper & Alloy, Ashley Edison Asia, Franco Pacific, Keri, Ponovo Power, Sandong Runh Power, China Electric Equipment Group and Bohai Heavy Industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien said that since 2010, the exhibition has been a national trade promotion programme, which helps domestic businesses boost cooperation and technological exchange with foreign partners, attract investment and implement the development strategy for the electrical industry to serve the economy.

On display are a range of technologies, machinery and equipment for use in thermal electricity power plants using coals and diesel, hydroelectric plants, gas turbine power plants, power plants using geothermal energy, nuclear power plants, power stations and electric generating systems using solar and wind power and other new energy sources. Products for electricity transmission systems such as substations, transformers, meters, power switch machines, high voltage breaker, wires and cables will also be showcased.

A number of conferences on the potential, opportunities and challenges of the Vietnamese electrical industry, with reports from the Institute of Energy, the Heavy Industry Department, the EVN and the Vietnam Electrotechnical Industry Association, are also being held as part of the event. – VOV
