Hanoi’s retail sales of goods and services up 38.1%

Hanoi’s retail sales of consumer goods and services in June have seen a 2.2 increase over the previous month, and a year-on-year rise of 38.1%, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

Total sales have reached nearly VND 407 trillion in the first six months of 2010, a year-on-year 27.8% rise. The non-State sector has contributed the most to the sales growth with 29%, followed by the foreign-invested sector, up 27.2%, and the State sector, up 22.3%.

The number of establishments in the service and trade sectors has reported a faster increase than in other economic sectors in the city.
