Growing 20,000ha of Rubber in 2020

The Ha Tinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recently made public a rubber development plan for 2010-2020, which targets 20,000ha of rubber in 2020.

Now that rubber has been growing in Ha Tinh for 12 years, the rubber growing area has increased to 7,195ha and will hopefully be 9,000ha this year. Of this, 1,494ha has yielded latex.

Ha Tinh expects to grow rubber on 16,000ha in 2015 (of which 5,800ha will yield latex) and 20,000ha in 2020 (of which 14,000ha will yield latex).

To make this happen, VND300 billion will be invested in infrastructure, VND1 trillion in growing and caring rubber and VND400 billion in building processing factories.

Most capital will come from the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group through rubber companies in the province.
