Gold prices increase by VND200,000/tael

The price of gold rose sharply to VND36.03-36.05 million/tael at 10am on December 29.

In Hanoi’s gold stores, prices were listed at VND35.95-36.07 million/tael. At 8.40am, SBJ gold stood at VND36-36.04 million, up by VND190,000/tael compared to transaction on December 28.

At 10.25am, Thang Long Dragon gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company hovered around VND35.76-35.82 million/tael.

Rising domestic gold prices were due to the sharp increase of the world’s gold prices. It was transacted at US$1,406.2 per ounce at closing time on December 28, up by US$22 per ounce against opening time. The world’s gold prices rose by 28 percent compared to earlier this year.

Previously, on December 7, gold prices reached their peak at US$1,432.50 per ounce. – VOV
