Gold prices drop below VND38 million per tael

The strong decline in world gold prices dragged domestic gold prices down by VND260,000 per tael on the morning of June 24 against the previous morning.

SJC gold was traded at VND37.85-37.94 million per tael in Hanoi at 8.30am. In Ho Chi Minh city, SBJ gold was bought at VND37.82 million per tael and sold for VND37.97 million.

Rong (dragon) gold of the Bao Tin Minh Chau company saw the lowest decline; it was bought at VND37.74 million and sold at VND37.84 million.

Meanwhile, the interbank US$ exchange rate announced by the State Bank of Vietnam on June 24 stayed at VND20,618; it has remained the same for the past 12 days.

The VND-US$ rate listed by Vietcombank this morning stood at VND20.560-20,630 per US dollar, the same as yesterday. Eximbank reduced its rate by VND10 from yesterday and ACB reduced the selling price by VND20 and raised the buying price by VND10. – VOV
