Gold prices approach VND49 million/tael

At 1.57pm on August 22, the domestic price of gold hovered around VND48.2-48.75 million per tael, increasing by VND1.25 million/tael compared to last week.

In Hanoi, SJC gold was traded at VND48-48.42 million/tael at 1.33pm, up VND500,000 from transactions in the morning.

The price at the Bao Tin Minh Chau Company was listed at VND48.1-48.75 million/tael.

In the world market, gold prices officially hit a new record of US$1,891 per ounce. With such price hikes, the domestic price of gold is now VND1.25 million per tael more expensive than in the world market.  - VOV
