Gold price surges 30,000 dong/tael

In comparison to the peak of 38.55 million dong per tale on April 30, the gold price in the domestic market today May 9 dropped by one million dong per tael.
Opening this week’s first trading session, the gold price in the domestic market soared 30,000 dong per tael from last weekend whereby the gold selling price is from 37.52-37.56 million dong per tael and the buying price is at 37.46-37.48 million dong per tael.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, on Sunday (May 8), the gold price listed at Bao Tin Minh Chau surged to 37.56 million dong/tael (selling price) and 37.46 million dong/tael (buying price) due to the world gold price recovered in last weekend.

The world gold price for immediate deliver, according to Kitco at 8:50 am Vietnamese time, is $1,496.7 per ounce. If comparing to the forex rate today at 20,708 dong/US dollar, the domestic gold price is higher by 200,000 dong per tael than the world price. – Vietbiz24
