Gold price hit VND38 million/tael in Vietnam

Gold prices on the domestic market increased sharply to nearly VND38 million per tael on July 9, up VND150,000 per tael compared to the previous days’ transactions.

The price of SJC gold was listed at VND37.91million per tael, while Sacombank’s SBJ gold was traded at VND37.99 million per tael.

On the world market, gold prices rose up to US$1,545 per ounce, the highest level since June 23. The global price of gold is likely to surge as it hit a six-week record low on July 1 (dropping to $1,478 per ounce).

Meanwhile, the price of oil on the world market fell to $96.9/barrel as investors reacted to bad news related to the disappointing US jobs report. – VOV
