Gold price falls 400,000 dong to 46.8m dong/tael on Thursday
The global gold price tumbled to $1,780 per ounce and the gap between the local and global gold price climbed to over two million dong per tael.
At 8:20 am local time today September 22, the gold price in domestic market slipped 300,000-400,000 dong per tael from late yesterday afternoon to range between 46.8 million dong per tael (selling price). Yesterday the gold price sometimes climbed to over 47.2 million dong per tael.
The SJC gold price in Hanoi was traded at 46.6-46.82 million dong per tael, down 400,000 dong per tael from yesterday afternoon. Thus, the local gold price dropped to below the threshold of 47 million dong per tael for the second time in this week (the first time was on September 20).
In comparison with last weekend, the domestic gold price lost 500,000 dong per tael.
The difference between the buying and selling price has been widened to 200,000-500,000 dong per tael.
The global gold price for December delivery on Comex floor, New York currently stands at $1,783 per ounce, down $25 from the closing price in previous session.
Currently, the spot gold price on Kitco floor is being traded at $1,780 per ounce. According to the forex rate of Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank-VCB) today September 22 at 20,628 dong, the world gold price is lower than the local gold price by two million dong per tael.
