Generali gets license to operate life insurance in Vietman

“Generali is ready to begin operations in Vietnam,” said the Trieste-based insurer in a statement.

Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) said Thursday it received a license to operate in Vietnam to run life insurance operations, as Italy’s biggest insurer expands in the fast-growing Asian countries.

The new license extends Generali’s presence in Asia to eight countries, including China and India.

This area represents a strategic market in view of its high economic growth and high household savings prosperity, it added. – DowJones
