FPT Group earns profit of 1.087tr dong in first six months

FPT Group (coded FPT) has earned 1.087 trillion dong of profit after tax in the first half of 2010, a year-on-year increase of 38.1 percent and equalling to over 131 percent of the plan. Meanwhile, the company’s H1 revenue was posted at 9.978 trillion dong, up 21.3 percent against the same period of last year.

In details, the profit after tax of shareholders in parent company saw a growth of 50.2 percent to 678.2 billion dong and average EPS reached 3,544 dong, up 48.2 percent over last year. Among the group’s member companies, FPT Information System Co announced gaining total revenue of about 1.391 trillion dong, FPT Software Co of 457 billion dong; FPT Telecom of over 1.152 trillion dong and FTG Co of 6.785 trillion dong.

With such positive business results, the group’s management board plans to advance dividend of 10 percent in shares for the first six months of this year.

In related news, FPT Group, via FPT Telecom Co decided to invest $10 million in developing telecommunication network in Cambodia. The group plans to apply for the investment licence for investing, developing and operating the telecommunication network in Cambodia.

Accordingly, FPT Group will invest capital for setting up a mobile network firstly in three cities such as Phnom Penh, Siemriep and Sihanoukville in Cambodia. At the same time, PFT Information System Joint Stock Co has officially opened its representative office in Laos and Cambodia for researching and applying the integrated IT systems via two international optical cable networks.

So, up to now, FPT has opened representative offices in nine countries in the world.
