Forum on Vietnamese businesses held in Cambodia
As many as 100 businesses attended the first forum for Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on July 26.
The forum provided an opportunity for businesses to share their successes and challenges working in the Cambodian market.
They had the chance to make proposals to Vietnamese authorities to help them make full use of their potential while doing business in Cambodia.
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh pointed out 10 advantages that Vietnamese businesses enjoy in the Cambodian market.
He said the Party, State and Government will create preferential conditions for Vietnamese businesses operating in Cambodia to develop further.
As of July 2011, Vietnamese businesses have invested nearly US$2 billion in 89 projects in agriculture, garments, health, telecommunications, minerals exploitation, airline, banking and finance and building materials to Cambodia.
Two-way trade turnover between the two countries reached US$1.351 billion in the first six months of this year with Vietnam’s exports to Cambodia hitting US$1.104 billion, an increase of more than 51 percent over the same period last year. – VOV
