Foreigners post net purchase of over 100b dong on both bourses


In the trading session on March 14, foreign investors continued to boost the purchase for over 1.85 million CTG-coded shares together with the others such as VCG, SSI, and GMD.



On the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC), foreigners’ buying volume was 5.2 million shares for 161.6 billion dong and selling volume at 2.76 million shares valued at 74 billion dong.



The difference between buying and selling volume was over 2.4 million shares worth 87.5 billion dong. In comparison with the previous trading session, foreigners’ net purchase increased over 80 billion dong, mainly due to the strong fall of selling volume.



This was the foreigners’ biggest net purchase on the southern bourse since the early February so far.



On Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), foreign investors also focused on net purchase of over 14 billion dong, brining the total net purchase on both bourses to over 101 billion dong.



CTG continued to be the most attractive share code with over 1.85 million shares being traded, equalling to 50 billion dong.



During the first two weeks of March, foreigners posted a total buying volume of nearly 6 million CTG-coded share.



By last weekend, Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank-CTG) finalised the share issuance of 10 percent its chartered capital for International Finance Corp (IFC) and plans to offer another 15 percent stake to Bank of Nova Scotia.

After these share issuances, the total remaining room at Vietinbank will be only 5 percent. Meanwhile, currently foreigners also hold a huge volume of CTG-coded shares.



Some other share codes also posted high net purchase such as VCG (642,000 shares for 12.5 billion dong), SSI (440,000 shares for 10.5 billion dong) and the others like GMD, LAF, and BVH.



Regarding net sale, STB took the lead with over 820,000 shares valued at 11.4 billion dong. In the previous week, STB-coded share also saw a net sale of nearly 1.4 million shares.



Foreigners also offloaded some share codes such as CII (79.3 million shares for 2.8 billion dong) and AAA with 100,000 shares for 2.7 billion dong.
