First Co.opMart Sai Gon supermarket opens in Hanoi

The Co.opMart Saigon supermarket was inaugurated in Ha Dong district, Hanoi yesterday.

This is the first Co.opMart Saigon in Hanoi and the 44th supermarket in the Co.op Mart supermarket chain nationwide.

On an area of 7,500 square metres, the supermarket has a total investment of VND 74 billion, selling over 20,000 items of goods. 90% of which is domestically manufactured goods.

General Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Union of Co-operatives Nguyen Thi Hanh said, in the coming time, the Co.opMart Sai Gon will continue expand its network in Hanoi as well as other provinces and cities in the northern region such as Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Ha Nam and so on.

The Co.op Mart Saigon chain is currently found present in 23 provinces and cities nationwide with a total of 44 supermarkets. The number will be increased to 115 by 2015. The Co.opMart Saigon is expected to expand its business network to Laos and Cambodia.
