Vietnamese stocks continued to surge today as investors poured money into the stocks after the index passed its 200 days moving average, liquidity consistently stayed at high level.
The benchmark VN Index gained 5.48 points, or 1.3% to end at 423.89, surpassing recent intraday high. Volume rose 22.72% to 67.4 million shares worth VND960.84 billion, including 7.1 million shares worth of VND114.43 billion changed hands in the put-through deals.
We saw 1.82 million EIB shares and 1.42 million MBB shares changed hands today, bank shares were very active these days.
VN Index opened in the green with nearly 4 million shares were traded. Sellers were aggressive after the open, sending the index into the negative ground briefly. However, buying energy was steady and the bulls gathered enough steam to convince the market. VN Index closed at the high of the day, some stocks saw their offer side blank.
VN30 added 5.43 points or 1.15% to 476.4 today. Volume rose by 30.72% to 25.66 million worth of VND484.66 billion.
Of note, some blue chips in the VN30 took a breather today, sending the VN30 index leg behind the broader market index VN Index. STB and SBT were two losers, VSH, VIC and FPT stood in the neutral line while the rest 25 stocks rose.
The broader market breadth was positive. Among 306 listed firms on HOSE, gainers outweighed losers by 198-59 and 50 stocks unchanged.
Financial stocks (property, securities, banks) were very active and outperformed.
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBB) was the most active stock today with 5.79 million shares traded, closing up 4.5% to VND13,900.
Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) ranked second with 2.98 million shares traded, closing up 4.65% to VND18,000.
Ocean Group JSC. (OGC) was in the third place with 2.8 million shares traded, closing up 0.9% to VND10,800.
Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (EIB) and Becamex Infrastructure Development JSC. (IJC) followed with 2.5 million shares and 2 million respectively.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX closed up 1.08 points or 1.64% to 66.78. Trading volume rose 8.96% to 76.73 million shares traded for VND627.5 billion of which 7.1 million shares worth VND114.43 billion were changed hands in put-through deals.
Market breadth was broadly positive with 221 gainers, 84 losers and 90 flat issues.
Hanoi Building Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HBB) was the most active position with 13.3 million shares changed hands, closing up 6.5% to VND4,900. This is the forth consecutive session that HBB was in the top list of most active stocks, and roughly46.3 million shares were traded in just 4 days. HBB has total 405 million listed shares.
Kim Long Securities JSC (KLS) ranked second in the list with 5.9 million shares traded, closing up 6.67% to VND11,200.
VNDIRECT Securities Corporation (VND) came third with 4.97 million shares traded, closing up 6.9% to VND9,300.
