Fair offers firms the chance to co-operate

The Viet Nam International Industrial Fair (VIIF) 2010, set to open in Ha Noi tomorrow, will create a chance for Vietnamese and foreign businesses to seek partnerships and boost co-operation, according to the Viet Nam Exhibition and Fair Centre general director Nguyen Danh Thuan.

As many as 350 enterprises, including 100 foreign firms from the Czech Republic, South Korea, Japan, India, mainland China and Taiwan, would attend the five-day fair, Thuan said.

He also described the annual event as a good opportunity for domestic businesses to improve technology levels and sharpen their competitiveness during the continued process of international integration.

The fair will display machinery and equipment from various industries, including automobile, construction, oil and gas, energy, chemicals and biology.

A conference on automation, measurement and control in several sectors, such as in agricultural processing and electricity, will be held on the sidelines of the event.

With the participation of 500 businesses at VIIF 2009, over 30 contracts and 18 memoranda of understanding were signed, said the fair’s organising board. — VNS
