Facebook most-visited social site in Vietnam: NetCitizens Vietnam 2011

In 2010, 70 percent of social network users in Vietnam were members of Facebook, increasing strongly against 47 percent in 2009.

According to the report from NetCitizens Vietnam 2011 of the Cimigo, the market research firm, Facebook is the most popular social network for Internet users in Vietnam from 2009 to 2010.
The second position belonged to Zing Me. This social network posted a triple increase in the total number of members in one year, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the market share.

Yahoo 360 Plus ranked at the third with about 12 percent of social network users, falling 1 percent year-on-year.

This result did not match with the information launched by Pingdom website in February 2011 (basing on the figures of Alexa). According to the data from Pingdom, Vietnam is one of 13 countries where Facebook can not dominate.

In addition, basing on the statistics from Google Ad Planner, till November 2010, Zing Me is the leading social network in Vietnam with 4.6 million users and followed by Yahoo, Facebook and Yume with 3.5 million, 3.2 million and 2.6 million respectively.

The NetCitizens Vietnam 2011 report was launched by Cimigo during November and December 2010 with more than 6,200 telephone interviews in 12 cities in Vietnam.
