Export turnover to China reaches $2.9b in first six months
The country’s export turnover to Chinese markets in the first half of this year was estimated at about $2.9 billion, up 45% year on year, in which the export turnover in June only reached nearly $530 million, an increase of 21% over the previous month.
Vietnam has concentrated on exporting key commodities such as coal of $479 million, counting for 16.7% of total export turnover, rubber of $378 million or 13.2%, cassava and cassava products of $288 million or 10%, computers, electronic products and components of $242 million, crude oil of $210 million, wood and wooden products of $160 million, petroleum of $127 million.

In the first six months, most of the groups of good saw an increase in export turnover in comparison with the same period of last year, except for seven losers such as plastic materials down 29%, paper and paper products of 23.8%, plastic products of 2.3%, cassava and cassava products of 19%, cashew of 13.6%, glass and glass products of 13%, metal ores and other minerals of 11%. On contrary, there was a sharp jump in export turnover of precious stones, jewellery at 2,039%, followed with steel products up 1,107% and chemicals of 544%, electrical wires and cables of 288%, petroleum products of 277%, means of transport and spare parts of 221%, wood and wooden products of 177.5%, steel products of 161%, computers, electronic and components of 138%, machines, equipment and other tools of 123%, chemical of 104%. – Vinanet
