Export to Switzerland in Jan-June declines by 37pct
Statistics from General Department of Customs shows that in the first six months of 2010, Vietnam has exported $1.4 billion to Swiss markets, accounting for 4.5% of the country’s export turnover, down 37.08% against the same period of last year.
Vietnam has exported 12 groups of goods to Switzerland in the first half of 2010. In H1 of 2009, Vietnam had exported steel products to this market. However, this kind of goods was excluded in the export list in Jan-June this year.
The commodities that have been exported to Switzerland reduced in comparison with that of last year, of which eight groups of commodities showed declining in export turnovers. The computers, electronic products and components dropped by 89.63% year on year with export turnover of $511.300, followed by precious stones and metals down 38.63%, despite its highest export turnover of $1.3 billion, coffee down 9.12% at $22.4 million, shoes and foot wares of 17.16% at $8.2 million and textile down 4.49% at $3.8 million.
The rest groups of commodities that gained positive results included seafood with total export turnover of $24.8 million, up 31.26% year on year, plastic products of over $2 million, declining by 14.28%, wood and wooden furniture of $1.3 million, up 6.96% and cashew of $194,400, down 40.64%. – Vinanet
