Expo 2010 attracts foreign businesses

The International Trade Fair – Vietnam Expo 2010 – opened in Hanoi on April 14, attracting nearly 400 domestic businesses and those from 17 countries and territories.

Most foreign businesses come from the US, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Cuba, Laos and Cambodia.

On display are agro-forestry and fisheries products, foodstuffs, fine art and handicraft articles, furniture, garments, jewelleries, leather and footwear, machineries, building materials, decorations, electrical and electronic products, and trade services.

The fair offers a good opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to seek information, establish partnerships, and expand outlets overseas to boost exports.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien said Vietnam Expo has been held for 19 times and the annual fair has become Vietnam’s important trade promotion activity to develop the domestic market and boost exports.
