Exhibition on garment equipment and component opens
An international exhibition on garment and textile equipment and components opens at Tan Binh Exhibition and Fair Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on April 14.
The exhibition has attracted more than 300 companies from 20 countries and territories, which showcase machinery, equipment, and materials for the garment and textile sector, providing a good chance for Vietnamese businesses to buy modern equipment and seek co-operative opportunities.
At the opening ceremony, Hoang Van Dung, vice chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) said that in the first three months of this year Vietnam earned more than US$2.2 billion from export, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent.
During the exhibition, there will be three seminars on development orientations for material supply to support the garment sector, and application of the LEAN production method and new technologies.
Most Vietnamese garment businesses have signed contracts to export their products by the end of third quarter, and several have extended export contracts until the end of this year.
