EVN purchases 37b kWh of electricity in first 8 months of 2011
Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has recently reported its performance for the first eight months of this year whereby in August alone, the electricity output of the whole system reached 9.861 billion kWh, of which, hydropower accounted for 47.13%, coal-fired thermo power plants made up 14.82% and 34.62% contributed by gas-fired thermo power plants.
Also in August, the average electricity output reached 318.1 million kWh per day, increasing 10.41% from the same period last year. The highest daily output reached 344.09 million kWh (August 31) and the highest capacity reached 16,628 MW (August 5).
Totally in Jan-Aug, 2011, the total electricity output of the whole system reached 71.867 billion kWh, rising 9.45% year on year.
In August, EVN’s electricity purchase and production reached 9.57 billion kWh, up 10.26% y-o-y, including 4.921 billion kWh of electricity production (up 10.71% y-o-y) and 4.649 billion kWh of electricity purchase (up 9.79% y-o-y). Vietnam’s electricity purchase from China was averagely at 10.6 million kWh per day.
In Jan-Aug, EVN’s electricity purchase and production reached 69.411 billion kWh, a year on year rise of 9.08%, of which, electricity production was 32.625 billion kWh (up 12.63%) and electricity purchase was 36.786 billion kWh, up 6.11%.
Commercial electricity in August 2011 was estimated to reach 8.478 billion kWh, up 8.35% y-o-y, bringing the total figure in the first eight months of this year to 61.723 billion, rising 11.14% y-o-y. – Vietbiz24
