EVN continues to buy electricity from China

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on December 4 announced that the total electricity purchase from foreign countries increased nearly 34 percent from the same period last year, of which, the purchase from China saw a rise of nearly 32 percent y-o-y.

EVN forecasted the power supply in December will remain difficult. Thus, to ensure for the stable supply of electricity, EVN will have to continue to buy electricity from China.

According to EVN, last month, the group’s total electricity supply was over 8.3 billion kWh, of which, EVN’s total production was over 4.8 billion kWh (including over two billion kWh from hydropower plants, down 2.4 percent year-on-year) and the remaining was imported from foreign nations. – CafeF
