EPC contract for Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant signed
Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on June 1 in Hanoi signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract worth $981 million (including taxes and fees) with Japan-based Marubeni contractor for the bidding package No 20 of Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant.
This project uses 85 percent of ODA loan from Japanese government via Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica).
Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant is invested by EVN and managed by PMU of thermo power project 2 under EVN.
This is one of two plants of Nghi Son Power Centre under the national power development scheme 2006-2015 approved by the prime minister at the Decision No 110/2007/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2007.
Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant covering a site of 350 hectares in communes of Hai Ha and Hai Thuong, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province has total capacity of 600 MW (2×300 MW) and an output of 3.6 billion kWh
As planned, the plant will start the first run in Q4 2013.
