Dung Quat oil refinery to finish in April

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the contractor of the Dung Quat oil refinery, Technip are stepping up the negotiation process to put the oil refinery into operation in April, said a PVN representative at a press conference in Hanoi on April 5.

Technip has fixed all the technical errors in half of its 4 contracts. The remaining contracts however still have some minor problems, but they do not affect the oil refinery operating stably.

PVN said the Prime Minister has agreed to allow PVN to conduct further negotiations with Technip and control the remaining contracts in case Technip shows the highest sense of responsibility when ensuring the quality of the contracts.

PVN Chairman Dinh La Thang, said that there will be some hiccups during the initial trail run and the plant will only operate smoothly after one or two years.
