Dung Quat oil refinery sells first batch of jet petrol

The Dung Quat Oil Refinery on July 17 sold 3,000 cu.m of jet petrol (Jet A1) to the Vietnam Air Petrol Company Limited (Vinapco) to serve flights of the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines.

General Director Nguyen Hoai Giang of the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical One-Member Co. Ltd., which runs the country’s first oil refinery, said that this is the first batch of jet petrol the refinery has sold after more than one year of operation.

On Nov. 9, 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technology granted an ISO 17025 certificate, certifying that Dung Quat’s Jet A1 petrol meets 21 technical standards.

Eight petroleum and gas products produced by the refinery have received ISO 9001-:2008 certificates from Norway-based Det Norrske Veritas (DNV), a leading international provider of risk management services.

The products include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), propylene, Mogas 90, Mogas 92 and Mogas 95 petrol, Jet A1 fuel, kerosene and diesel oil. – VOV
