Domestic transportation fees will rise by between 15%-20% from March 1 due to higher retail fuel prices

Domestic transportation fees will rise by between 15%-20% from March 1 due to higher retail fuel prices, the local newspaper Saigongiaiphong reported on February 28, citing local firms.

The fees for container transporting are expected to increase by between 15-20%, Thai Van Chung, General Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Transportation Association said.

Taxi and passenger car fees are also believed to rise VND1,500/km and VND40,000/time respectively, Thuong Thanh Hai, deputy director of Mien Dong bus stop.

Meanwhile, the bus fees are kept stable by the state budget.

Earlier, on February 24, domestic retail prices of petrol rose by VND2,900/liter to VND19.300/liter. The price hike has been pressured on the price level on higher production cost. – Stoxplus.com
