Deputy PM visits Samsung Electronics Vietnam

Samsung Electronics Vietnam aims to earn US$1.5 billion from exports in 2010, becoming Vietnam’s biggest foreign invested company.

This target was revealed by the company’s General Director Yoo Young Bok at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan on April 12.

Mr Bok briefed Deputy PM Nhan on the company’s current business activities. Samsung is a big economic group from the Republic of Korea, which specialises in manufacturing audiovisual products and other appliances. It is also the only business to provide accommodation for its workers, he said.

Deputy PM Nhan praised the company’s operational model in Vietnam and said that despite producing high-tech products, it employs a large number of Vietnamese workers. He also spoke highly of its initiative in building a vocational training its own workforce.
