Damco opens Vietnam distribution center

Damco has opened a new 26,000 sq m distribution center in Vietnam to support its growth in both its international and domestic volume.

The distribution center, positioned strategically in Binh Duong, 30 km from Ho Chi Minh City, will further strengthen Damco’s network in Vietnam which also includes nine existing facilities nationwide.

The facility is well-connected by road transport and allows it to serve both Cat Lai and Cai Mep ports. Plans are also underway to further link the facility to barge infrastructure as a supplement to truck transport. This will allow customers to reduce overall transportation costs and carbon emissions.

“With this new facility, our customers will have greater flexibility in managing fluctuations in demand for warehousing,” says Narin Phol, Country Manager for Damco in Vietnam and Cambodia.

“The distribution center will operate as an integrated logistics center offering multipurpose warehousing, a humidity-controlled environment, access to inland container depots and barge connectivity.”

Damco plans to continue investing in infrastructure to meet the growing needs of its customers.

“We have achieved great success in the past few years by offering comprehensive logistics solutions to our customers,” says Phol.

“By integrating warehousing services with our extensive network and capabilities, customers are able to increase efficiency and agility in their supply chains. We are well positioned to increase our market share in domestic warehousing and distribution.”
