Consultative Group to meet in Rach Gia
The Consultative Group (CG) for Viet Nam, including representatives of the Vietnamese Government and bilateral and multi-lateral donors, will hold its mid-year meeting in Rach Gia City in southern Kien Giang Province on June 9.
The meeting will focus on the assessment of the macroeconomic situation and policy priorities for 2010; the national socioeconomic development strategy for 2011-20 and the socioeconomic development plan 2011-15; and responding to climate change, with focus on economic restructuring, inclusive growth and human resource development.
The meeting will be chaired by Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc and the country director for the World Bank in Viet Nam, Victoria Kwakwa.
Last year’s Consultative Group Meeting for Viet Nam was held in Ha Noi on December 3-4 where donor countries and international development organisations committed more than US$8 billion in support of Viet Nam’s poverty reduction and development agenda. — VNS
