Construction project of Van Don Airport to begin in late 2010

Quang Ninh Province people’s committee worked with South Korea-based JOINUS Co Ltd to discuss about Van Don International Airport project. In details, if the ground is handed over in June 2010, the construction project can be officially started in the end of this year.

The Van Don International Airport will be constructed in Doan Ket Commune, Van Don Dist with total investment capital of $2 billion. The project will be carried out in three phases, in which the first phase is expected to be finished in 2013.

Together with other items such as high-class resort complex, golf courts and five-star hotels, Van Don International Airport will help turn Van Don Economic Zone into the leading trade, financial and tourism centre in Vietnam in the near future.
