Construction production value estimated at 54.178tr dong in Jan-May
Ministry of Construction has reported that the sectoral production value in May was estimated at 12.159 trillion dong, bringing the figure of first five months to 54.178 trillion dong, a year-on-year surge of 26.6 percent.
Actualised value of installation and construction firms reached 23.852 trillion dong in Jan-May, up 24.7 percent compared to the same period of 2009. In May only, these firms’ actualised value counted for 5.245 trillion dong.
Industrial production and construction material firms (including Vietnam Cement Industry Corp) estimated to attain 4.385 trillion dong in revenue in May and 20.010 trillion dong in Jan-May.
In 2010, the country’s cement demand is about 50-51.5 million tonnes, rising by 11 percent from 2009. In which, the production plan of Vietnam Cement Industry Corp was assigned at 18-18.5 million tonnes, joint venture companies 15-15.5 million tonnes and other cement grinding facilities 17-17.5 million tonnes. Reportedly, Vietnam’s cement production last month reached 4.36 million tonnes and 20.15 million tonnes in first five months while the cement sales posted at only 4.31 million tonnes and 19.67 million tonnes correspondingly.
Import export turnover of the ministry managed entities totalled at $21.2 million in May and $139.5 million in Jan-May.
