Construction on HCM City-Trung Luong expressway expected to be finished in 2011

The government delegation, state budget management board of HCM City People’s Council met and worked with Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corp to discuss about the implementation progress of three expressway projects of HCM City-Trung Luong, HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay and Ben Luc-Long Thanh on January 6, 2011.

In details, for HCM City-Trung Luong expressway project, Do Ngoc Dung, vice general director of My Thuan project management board said after nearly one year of temporary operation, the HCM City – Trung Luong Exporessway has help solve the traffic jam and reduce the number of accidents on National Highway No 1A. However, with current construction speed, it was predicted that the construction would be completed by the end of Q1, and the project management board will begin collecting toll charges from April 30, 2011.

As for the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway project, Tran Xuan Sanh, VEC’s general director said that the project has already finished the designing works, and selecting six contractors. Up to now, the construction work for the whole project has finished 9 percent only.
