Conference helps boost agricultural development
A conference on cooperation between the State, scientists, businesses and farmers in developing agricultural products for poor people opened in Ho Chi Minh City on November 29.
The two-day event offers an opportunity for the participants to study investment potential, policies and rural development projects as well as new technologies in agricultural production.
A representative from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) said the fund’s goal is to provide capital and technical assistance for poor provinces to develop agricultural products and help farmers to build their trademarks.
The fund has implemented a project to gather farmers into small organizations and link them with trader and consumer associations in order to bring their products directly to major distributors, consumers and supermarket chains.
The project has been carried out in 11 provinces and cities nationwide, including Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.
Tang Minh Loc from the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the alliance of the State, scientists, businesses and farmers is an indispensable process of the development of the agricultural product market.
It helps solve difficulties between farmers and businesses and seek consumption markets for agricultural products, he said. – VOVNews
